AND WE"RE BACK! Shirayuki and the rest of the applicants just got told they have to wait a little bit for the other applicants, so she decides to follow Ryuu. She looks at what he has gathered up, and realizes what he is making...she accidentally spoke out loud what he needed. He turned around, and she was embarrassed, but he looked at her and thought she was the most beautiful person he had ever laid eyes upon. He starts talking to her about medicinal plants, and she becomes interested. She goes over to sit by him, and he becomes embarrassed. As Ryuu runs off, Zen yells out for Shirayuki. He asks her if she is calm. Her response:
"Kind of."
"Kind of?" (Zen said this)
Shirayuki grabs Zen's hand. Holds it for about 5 seconds. "Yeah. I'll be back!" she says.
The assignment for the applicants:
"You will be responsible for a small medicinal herb garden in the castle, tending to and protecting the environment and plants inside the garden. After two days, there will be an inspection, and after that, you will submit a report." (As said by Garak)
Later that night, Zen watches Shirayuki hard at work, while the other applicants are asleep. Zen knows he isn't supposed to be near her for the two days, but when somebody is shuffling through the hedges, and ducks inside of the greenhouse. He becomes flustered when Shirayuki asks him why he was there. All of a sudden...
Somebody locked them inside! After they have a very brief conversation he asked if she had enough sleep.
"Did you get enough sleep?" he asked.
"I slept." she said.
"Sometimes, you smile and evade the question." he said.
I love that line because it's true. She tries not to worry him, and in doing so he get even more worried.
Shirayuki goes over to a flower bed that is almost lifeless. She tastes the water, which is surprisingly sweet (it's not supposed to be), and runs up the stairs to the next floor of the garden where the water is normal. Zen asks what is wrong, so she tells him the water is poisoned. He FREAKS out.
Shirayuki looks for the plant that is making the toxin. She locates a plant that is supposed to be akegi shigure, but is actually yura shigure. He tells her he will help, so she tells Zen to hurry and close all the aqueducts. She digs up the yura shigure, and replants the ENTIRE garden that night....WITHOUT ANY REST!

The next morning, the chief herbalist walks in. She is surprised to see Prince Zen on the ground covered in dirt. She asks Shirayuki if she put Zen to work. She said she did because the herbs would save Zen's life one day. He burst out laughing. Shirayuki and Zen had a brief conversation about how she would probably never show up at the castle again if Zen used his power to make her a court herbalist. Chief Garak busted out laughing at that. The other two were VERY confused, to say the least.

When Chief Garak tells Shirayuki she is the new court herbalist. Shirayuki had already met Ryuu, so Garak appoints him to be her supervisor. She is fine with this, and asks if she could pick some of the missing ingredients that Ryuu was missing, rainbow leaf and koko grass. When they official meet, he tells her to stop being so formal.
While they are grinding the koko grass and rainbow leaf, a man comes into the waiting room asking for medicine. When Shirayuki calls for Ryuu, the man does not like it. He tells Shirayuki he is too scared to take medicine from him bcause all he does its research plant poison. She becomes irritated at what he is saying, and she SLAMS her hand down and yelled at him. It scares him to the point his face turns blue. Ryuu told her not to bother. Her response:
Tightens her fists. "Don't say foolish things."
She walks out, leaving Ryuu wide-eyed at what she said. Zen showed up at the window. He had heard it all, so they walked outside and talked. Ryuu told Zen he thinks Shirayuki is mad at him. Zen told him she is the type you just ask if she is mad at you.
Chief Garak gives Shirayuki Prince Zen's medical history book. She opens it up and reads it. Ryuu finds her crying and doesn't know what to do, so he goes to tell Zen. Zen FREAKS out, and runs in a few minutes later to find her crying, while flipping through her medical history. He quickly pulls her into a hug. He tells her that he will stay until she finishes reading the documents. (Zen X Shirayuki moment eeek!)

A little while later, Shirayuki runs out and apologizes to Ryuu for scaring him. He asks her if she is mad, and her response:
"Ryuu, do you remember my name?"
"I do, but.." Ryuu said
"Then, if you call me by my name, I'll tell you if I'm mad or not."
Ryuu calls Shirayuki a Yura Shigure, after she tells him she isn't mad. Zen says he wants to see the flower (He's jealous....so cute).
